This is all very exciting and overwhelming. The day before the Primary and there is a lot of place to go and things to do. I have fielded no less than thirty call this morning.
Coordination of poll workers is being handled by my neighbor Miki Moore and Sally Atwood from Fisher Park. They are plugging people in all around town and doing a great job. I am making sure that everyone also has November 4th (General Election Day) open as well. There is a lot of sharing of poll workers between baseball activists and my folks because many times they are one and the same. The dynamics are hard to explain but it is all getting done.
Jinni and I have decided to have the "election watch" party at our house - The Cypress Lounge - tomorrow evening. Should be a great group, come on by if you want to be in the thick of it. All are welcome but BYOB, this campaign has drained my Bourbon budget for the next six months.
My youngest, Jesse, called from school with an upset stomach so Jinni picked him up. I have decided to slow down a bit and stay with him until I'm sure he is OK. He's curled up in our bed with fresh batteries in the remote control. Priorities you know...
