I received a note and an unsolicited campaign contribution from my Mom yesterday. My parents live in Hodgenville, Kentucky. The letter reads:
David, I usually don't give to politicians, but will make and exception since you belong to me. Hope this helps out some.

P.S. Will still claim you as mine even if you don't win. Of course then I will want my money back.

Dad has been in the hospital for a few days getting his plumbing worked on but he is doing pretty well. My Sainted sister Judy and not-yet-canonized brother Keith have been trading off a lot of bedside time with Dad as they have done each time some health problem crops up with our parents. I was the only sibling who flew so far from the coop those many years ago and the brunt of such matters has fallen upon them. For that I am regretful and thankful all at the same time.
