The latest Aquarium Age forecast for us all for Aug. 5-12:
Forget the dog days of August, there just won't be time for afternoon siestas. A big, busy bundle of planetary interaction turns this week and the next several weeks into a marathon of activity. And what's more... daily life becomes fragmented, and we mere mortals, stretched a little thin. The secret to handling this multifaceted, multidimensional phase is, of course, multitasking.
Well, ain't that the truth. Except that I think this started already. I am still juggling a couple of projects and I turned down a rush job I could have taken on over the weekend. This morning I heard from a client who used to keep me very busy who I’ve hardly heard from in the last 6-8 months. He said his company has been taken over by another agency and, with business upheaval settling, work is about to pick up in September. It feels a little crazy, but it’s actually how things used to be before everything crashed three years ago. I think if work gets regular again, I’ll re-learn how to balance things and get things done.
Of course now I’ll also have to figure out how to keep writing and posting as well. But I believe I will, because it’s personally satisfying. Just like I can’t go more than a couple of days without getting any exercise because I feel the physical need for it, I feel something lacking when I’m not writing regularly.
I’m also determined to take a little time for myself yet this summer, at least on weekends and maybe an afternoon here and there – yes, even for a siesta if need be! A friend and I are planning to visit another friend of ours on the Cape for a couple of days the last week of August. And the weekends… Tomorrow if the weather is good, M is going to bring out his kayaks again. I had so much fun last Saturday, I’d love to go again. Otherwise, it’ll be a movie or video and dinner and just hanging out having fun. After having way too much time on my hands over the past years, I am relishing my play time again.
