We sailed today out of Falmouth Harbor on MJ's 19-foot sailboat - MJ, her two kids, T and I. We couldn't have had better weather. It was a short trip - straight out almost to Martha's Vineyard then back around, with pretty calm winds but enough to sail there and back. MJ has become quite the sailor, and her kids, age 9 and 11, are pretty good deck hands. T and I each got turns at the tiller, too.
We had to come back all too soon since T is singing tonight, but we got our sail in and a mid-afternoon lunch/dinner at the Clam Shack before heading home. Now I have a big pile of laundry and all the detritus of my trip all over my bed. I may have to throw it all on the floor and deal with it tomorrow, although I have two meetings and a very busy day. All that fresh air and sunshine made me sleepy. After being on the beach all afternoon yesterday, then dinner out for T's birthday, followed by a long walk after dark along the sidewalk beside the beach and the cliffs, I slept like a log. I expect I will tonight, too.
