Closing arguments for the Dover "intelligent design" trial were this past week.

My favorite part: the attorney for the school district described intelligent design as a "new, fledgling science movement." Absolutely ludicrous, and it show exactly how morally and intellectually bankrupt this is as a cover-up for teaching religion in science class. Creationism, whatever label you decide to throw on top of it, was the incumbent for thousands of years until the Scopes Monkey Trial helped to establish that there needed to be actual evidence to support scientific theories. There's nothing new or fledgling about it.

By the way: I have no problem with people believing that God created the universe, including life on Earth. People make acts of faith in all sorts of things. You just don't get to pass off your articles of faith as legitimate topics of study in public school science classes.
