Devastated
Whitehorse is in shock. A former neighbour of ours who Alan grew up with and graduated with last year has died of a drug overdose. This being a small town, most people either knew him or knew of him. I had lost track of him over the years and I'm struggling to understand how someone I remember as this sweet little kid ended up dead on the floor of a friend's apartment.
Alan said Jason had been hanging out with a pretty tough bunch. We've had lots of conversation in this house about trying to keep friends safe and keeping yourself safe. I think it's been a real wake-up call for many Whitehorse teenagers: this is quite the party town if you're looking for that kind of thing. I find myself praying every day for my family's safety and clear thinking.
