Arrived in Minneapolis, MN in mid-afternoon after a smooth ride (only felt like a bobble-head figurine every now and then!).

I called my wife and kids.  They will be carving pumpkins (again) since my wife didn't get a chance to take pictures of the previously carved (and now rotten) pumpkins with the kids.  Then they will be watching Finding Nemo before going to bed.  It will be good to see the family again this weekend!

Now that "W" has another 4-year presidential term, the Liberals are pulling out the stops to advance their agenda.  Take the Monday Night Football opening spot fiasco.  What was ABC thinking when they showed a female disrobe (drop her towel) in the locker room and leap jump into the Terrell Owens' (of the Philadelphia Eagles) arms?  If there is one, there are a thousand ways to better promote their "hot" new show "Desperate Housewives" which incidentally doesn't promote family values for those of us living in the "Red" States (Hey, I live in a "Blue" State and I'm seeing red when it comes to displaying immoral relationships as "normal" across America).  I'd like to see ABC receive a bigger fine than CBS (The Janet Jackson breast shot) since ABC had time to edit, re-edit, and edit some more before allowing the spot to run in prime time.  Watch for more in-your-face liberal anger to be displayed on TV screens and movie screens near you.

A new study says that you can lose weight and keep it off by eating no more than 1,800 calories/day and walking the equivalent of about 4-miles every day.  Pardon me, while I grin, but how in the heck is a long-distance trucker gonna do the equivalent of a 4-mile walk every day? (USA Today, Wednesday, 11-17-04, Life Section, p. 9D)  If you're 170 lbs (and I'm not!), you would burn 345 calories by walking around in one-hour's time (so walking one-mile would burn-off roughly 100 calories).  I know...I'll get a pet and when I let him/her out to pee, I won't put him/her on a leash.  That way I'll be chasing it around at least 4-miles a day in order to get it back into the truck.  Oh wait, my company doesn't allow pets into the truck.  Hmm.....Hey, I know...what if the government created a new subsidy program for the trucking industry.  Truckers would be paid a respectable wage for the equivalent of 4-miles worth of exercise a day.  Trucking companies would receive a bonus subsidy if all the drivers took part in the program.  Now where is my liberal congressman's contact information? (I live in one of those "Blue" states)

I'm gonna see if NASA can put a scramjet on my rig.  That way I'll still get paid for all the miles I'm driving and be home every night to see the family.  And I'll be able to workout in the gym every day!

miles driven = 456

PostScript: Yeah, I watched Part 2 of the CBS movie "Category 6" (see this past Monday's log).  I keep asking myself "why, why, why?"  Sigh....
