Sunday, November 28th

Crossing through the Canadian border was effortless.  I spend a grand total of 3-minutes waiting for Canadian Customs to clear me (It can take up to 2 or more hours).  Of course it helped that it was early Sunday morning as well as the new barcode technology on paperwork that both Canada and the United States are implementing to speed up the commercial vehicle border crossing process (In other words, the load is pre-authorized via a barcode sticker

Since my unload appointment was at 6:00 AM tomorrow, I thought I'd park at the business location who is receivingon the paperwork after the appropriate people have OK'd the shipment.)  Technology--when it works--ya gotta love it!

It rained pretty much the entire drive up to my destination.  In fact as I wrote the previous paragraph, there was a brief flurry of snow showers! (the first I've seen this year)  Now it's back to rain.  Who knows?  I could wake up to a foot of snow on the ground! the load.  That way, if I overslept, they could just knock on the cab and wake me up!  I'm glad I decided to do that rather than drive a ways from a truck stop.  The directions given to me via a computer mapping program had me in a location about 15-20 miles from where I was supposed to me.  I would have for sure missed my appointment time I had relied solely on the computer instructions. (What did I say about technology?  When it works....)  So after turning the rig around 2-times on the back roads of Canada (you should definitely at least once-in-your lifetime try turning a 65-foot tractor-trailer around on a country road near where you live.  It's fun!), I arrived at my destination mid-afternoon.

Yep, the rain is definitely starting to change to snow.  The wind is picking up as well.  Looks like I'll be spending the night in a gigantic rocking "chair" (a strong wind actually rocks the truck back and forth).  Sweet dreams!

miles driven = 331
