Apologies to Nelly for corrupting
his anthem of a few years back for the title of this post. The
Happy Hour was fun last night. I would tend to think that
we--myself included--were a bit on the sadistic side as it was a pretty
darn warm night to sit outside. Nonetheless, the inside of Nick's
was a bit full, and I think being outside lent itself to
conversation. Fortunately, Mr. Boh and the food selection at
Nick's was enough to compensate for the heat. Boh is surprisingly
tasty when it is incredibly hot outside. Kudos to the organizers,
Zenchick and Broadsheet, for picking a good location for the Happy Hour.
As for Neckbone and Queenie,
welcome to summer in the Mid-Atlantic. It starts when you leave
early in the morning and are greeted by the smack in the face that is
90% humidity. Of course, wearing clothes more fit for a Spring
day was not the wisest of choices, Neckbone.
Snay, you must really lay off the Woodchuck Cider. Next time, Bartles and Jaymes Wine Coolers for you.
ACW's ruminations on necrophilia--to quote Cleveland from the Family Guy: "Oh, that's nasty." And I am tired of covering for your cheap ass! ;->
To Mike I say, welcome to the
crew. Feel free to run away as fast as you can.
;-> All kidding aside, it was nice to see you actually meet
us, and you have a lovely wife. It was also very cool too meet eXtra heavy, as he was one of the first local bloggers I started reading. Also, Epiph, I am sticking to my guns on my thoughts of Sosa's statistics come the end of the season.
The rest of the usual gang was there, too: Fool, JWER, MHG,
and Lurker Sally. It was good to see you all. My apologies
for those of you who had to hear my somewhat geeky conversations, my
ruminations of the Orioles, my rather haughty recollections of my days
at Poly, and my potentially bad advice. All said, I enjoyed myself immensely, making for an atypical Tuesday night.
