Book reviews from Investigate a Good Book participants

Women Painters of the World by Walter Sparrow: Beautiful paintings of women, children, and some men. Old collective picture paintings.

Jane's Warlord by Angela Knight: Exciting, good story.

Jimi and Me by Jaime Adoff: The story talks about a boy and the tragedy of his dad. Also, the hardships that he and his mother had to go through after losing his father. And the thing that kept him going was the music of Jimi Hendrix.

Full Moon by Michael Light: Wonderful book about exciting travels to the moon.

Border Hostage by Virginia Henley: Descriptive, enchanting, want to keep reading.

Pretend you don't see her by Mary Higgins Clark: Always enjoy Clark.

On the Street Where you Live by Mary Higgins Clark: Like it.

Prophecy by Sylvia Browne: Sylvia Browne makes a good point about mental illnesses and I can't wait to see her prediction of protein/chemical balance when blood tests become available.

Rituals of the Season by Margaret Maron: Definitely a 'girlly' book. It was light-hearted in places. The entire book revolved around a wedding between a Judge and Police Chief. The plans were interrupted and complicated by trying to solve an old murder case which the accused is scheduled to be executed and the murder of the DA who was also trying to solve the old case to stop the execution. It was an enjoyable book--not my favorite--but I would definitely read another book by this author.

The Collectors by David Baldacci: This book starts off by flashing to two different stories. I was wondering how the author was going to get all of these characters together. When that happened, it really took off and ya just didn't want to stop. There is nothing 'light' about this book. It is excellently written and keeps your interest. At the end of the book--ya just don't want it to end. I shouted a loud, "NO!!!" I really cannot wait to get the next book to see how it all goes on.

Two for the Dough by Janet Evanovich: Funny and exciting--enjoyable reading for the person who wants to be entertained.

Angus, Thongs, and Full Frontal Snogging by Louise Rennison: This series is very funny--like a younger Bridget Jones' Diary.

Kingdom Come: The Final Victory by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins: Very riveting. Helps explain a lot. Loved the whole 16 book series of Left Behind.

Carolina Isle by Jude Deveraux: I had read two other books by this author and enjoyed them very much, but I was disappointed in this one. The story jumped around a lot and several times something (an event or a character's statement) was thrown in that made no sense to the plot.
