Book Reviews from Investigate a Good Book participants

Ask Dr. Weil by Andrew Weil: Ok--older book--didn't read anything that I didn't already know--outdated info.

Shylock's Daughter by Mirjam Pressler: If this book were made into a movie I would only give it two stars. It's very juvenile with too much prophesysing and not enough story telling.

Night Angel by T. Davis Bunn: A remarkable novel as the sequal to 'The Noble Fugitive'! A cunning mix of sorrow mixed with faith and hope. I can't wait for more.

Nine days a Queen by Ann Rinaldi: An enchanting tale of the turmoil over the rule of England. A young girl's doubts and hopes in her short reign as Queen of a great kingdom are brought to life before our eyes.

Noble Fugitive by T. David Bunn: An enlightening story. A wonderful tale that weaves faith, virtue, and love in a thrilling adventure. Follow young Serafina and John Falconer on their journey from Venice to England to America.

Do you: 12 laws to access the power in you to achieve happiness and success by Russell Simmons: Russell expounds on his 12 basic laws for *anyone* to follow that will help lead to a successful fulfilling life. Easy read, comon sense laws to live by. Book worth owning.

Hooded Hawke by Karen Harper: Very interesting book in a series of nine. Even though it's fiction, it gives a great view into the lives of England at the time of Elizabeth I and her country.

Wedding Officer by Anthony Capella: An outstanding novel! This book puts into perspective a side of WWII Italy I didn't even know existed. A must-read for everyone!

Hawaii-Eyewitness Travel by DK Publishing: This is an excellent resourse book on all the islands of Hawaii. It is well organized with lots of beautiful pictures and information. Also the size makes it a handy book to purchase and "take with" on a trip. I'll be visiting Hawaii in 2008 and found this book a fun 'preview' for my trip.

Handmaid and the Carpenter by Elizabeth Berg: A truely remarkable novel. Never have I read this story of Mary and Joseph that was so moving. This novel gives us a glimpse at their lives and the struggles they faced to fulfill the prophecy of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Brazen Virtue by Nora Roberts: A good one! A woman who discovered her sister's body was able to set herself up as bait to stop a serial killer.

Pet Sematary by Stephen King: All of Stephen King's books are good. The movies about the books are good too, but not as good.

Moon Witch by Linda Winstead Jones: This is the second book of the trilogy of the Fyne witches. It was just as good as the first. Just as scary. It's packed with adventure.

California Girl by Patricia Rice: This was a book about a young girl murdered. And trying to solve the case are her friends, family, and detectives that are working together.

Hatwearers lesson by Yolanda Joe: very pleasant read.
