Book Reviews from Investigate a Good Book participants Looks to die for by Janice Kaplan: When her plastic surgeon husband is arrested for murder, Lacy Fields, interior designer and uber-mom, becomes a contemporary Nancy Drew in order to clear his name. In Chanel and LaPerla, Lacy schmoozes for clues, comforts her confused kids and organizes an outing, all in an effort to find the murderer before the trial begins--on Friday the 13th. This book is an in-your-face, namedropping, wild ride. Breaking the cycle by Zane: Different stories of abuse. Fresh food fast by Peter Berley and Melissa Clark: Easy meals in under an hour. Could use more pictures on what the dishes should look like. Kitty Takes a holiday by Carrie Vaughn: A fun work of urban fantasy. If you're into magic and werewolves, you'll love this one. Green Clean by Linda Mason Hunter and Mikki Halpin: An excellant book for how to clean with solutions not harmful to yourself or the environment. I think this book should be in every household. Here's the Bright Side by Betty Rollin: Very uplifting and positive reading regarding the negative stuff that life throws at you. Skeleton Coast by Clive Cussler: The story is kind of far out, but still a good adventure. 3:00:02 PM     News from Investigate a Good Book: Hackley Public Library's Summer Reading Club for Grownups Investigate a Good Book is pleased to announce that Dorothy Place, Monica Manning, and LaVon Meisch won prizes in last week's drawing. This week, JoAnn Dobben, Jennifer Mastee, and Pat Wilkey won prizes. They will get a chance to pull a prize out of a hat when they next come into the library. The adult summer reading program runs through August, with weekly Monday morning drawings. To sign up for the program call (231-722-7276) or go into the Library and ask to sign up for the Adult Summer Reading Program.
