A picture named NAB2002.gifWhy you should care about NAB2002--

The National Association of Broadcasters represents the entire broadcast industry. NAB is the most powerful lobbying group for the industry and not to be taken lightly. By default, NAB adopted webcasting. Reason? In the beginning, the primary focus of webcasting was a tool for broadcasters to simulcasting exsisting radio and television broadcasts on the internet. However times have changed.

What is NAB2002? Every April NAB sponsors the biggest shindig in the industry in none other than Sin City AKA Las Vegas,  Nevada. The show centers around a group conferences and exhibits of the most comprehensive showcase of digital communications technologies. The show includes every element of television and radio broadcasting, film/video production and post production, audio production, multimedia, the Internet, satellite and telecommunications,  Everyone from Sam Donaldson to FCC Chairman Mike Powell, makes sure this convention is penciled-in on their dance card. It is the major industry event to see and be seen attending. Over 1400 companies spend a considerable amount of hard cash in introducing new products and showing the tried and true older ones.

But that's not all. The convention also acts as the major homebase for all of the industry groups including webcasting to meet, learn something new and talk with other groups. There will be a considerable amount of talk about CARP and CBDTPA among the effected groups.

Other than bring the news and information about what's new, I'm attending to get a read on the temperature of the political waters. It should prove interesting, IF I can get the news posted here.
