Metacomments
Rob McNair-Huff says, in
MacNetJournal:
The "comment" feature [...] have so far failed to draw much
response [...] I keep hoping that comments will catch on,
because it offers a two-way street for communication.
I added a couple of comments there. Reproduced (slightly edited) here:
I think there are two problems with comments, as they currently work in Radio. One is that it's too hard for a weblog writer to see whether/where any comments have been added to a posting. I can't come up with a "Find" string in Netscape that would locate just the items that do have comments.
(A regular expression search could do it, but I don't know how to tell
Netscape to perform one of those.)
The other problem is that they're so restricted in scope/audience.
If I want to write my feedback about comments, wouldn't I just put it
on my own weblog and/or the
Radio discussion site?
Two other problems are that I can't edit my comment after submitting it, and I haven't found a way to remove comments after I posted a couple of test comments on my weblog.
