Web Forms That Suck

Apple: Working With JavaScript - Dynamic Forms. “Forms are key components of all Web-based applications. But important as they are, Web developers often present users with forms that are difficult to use.” [mac.scripting.com]

I have been spending a lot of time looking at online employment sites, and boyoboy do those guys have some sucky forms. My biggest pet peeve about them involves a box where you're supposed to select from one (or more!) of, say, twenty or so possibilities -- but their dorky form will only show you four at a time!

Even Radio UserLand gets in a bit of trouble with this: I changed my Radio home desktop template so that there's one narrow column with the nav links, calendar, etc., and one wide column with the edit box, the previous posts, etc. I still haven't figured out where to change the size of the edit box so it will fill out the wider column it's now in. Hmmm ... why does that have to be done manually anyway?
