Big HP/Compaq vote today.
Call it HewPaq, hire Tupac Shakur for corporate spokesman -- he'd be perfect: he's just about as relevant these days as either HP or Compaq or the proposed combination thereof.
My theoretical version of the vote: with benefit of hindsight, how many HP & Compaq stockholders wish Carly & a Capellas had never suggested this merger? My guess: 90+% would have wished that. More that half of those will vote for the merger while holding their noses. All of the controversy has affected both firms' futures adversely, whether or not the merger occurs.
