Outliners

Like Adam Curry, I like outliners too. Haven't had a whole lot of experience with them yet, though. I especially liked the quote at the bottom of this rant on a whole different subject:

I wish some people were outlines, I'd love to collapse some of their nodes I don't care for and expand other nodes I love.
Yeah, I know some people like that.

And while browsing Adam's weblog, I had to include this quote worth preserving: ... the paperless office is as likely as the paperless toilet.

weblogs by region

I found the pepys project a week or two ago, and got myself added to it. It says:

The purpose of this is to collect URL's for web logs, diaries, and journals from around the world, indexed by geographical area
GIGO is currently on this page, though that will change if the site grows a lot more.

Today's Daypop's Top 40 pointed at another site with a similar (but slightly expanded) intent -- "globe of blogs".

These are kinda cool at first, but my guess is that (as happened with USENET), they'll either stagnate by not growing much, or morph into unwieldy masses of stuff (see Sturgeon's Law) with the occasional nugget of interest. Probably even http://www.weblogs.com has a good chance of meeting that latter fate.
