Denver November 2004 Election
Many prominent persons, including Mayor Hickenlooper, were rallying in support of FasTracks yesterday, according to the Rocky Mountain News [May 12, 2004, "Officials endorse FasTracks tax"]. From the aricle, "The 0.4-cent increase in RTD's sales tax rate, raising it to a full penny on the dollar, would help to fund the $4.7 billion FasTracks package of nine rail transit corridors - six new ones with extensions on the three existing ones - plus a beefed-up and restructured grid of bus connections. The tax would back 30-year bonds. It would add 4 cents to every taxable $10 purchase."
