Denver November 2004 Election

Mike Miles won the top line position for the August 10th primary at yesterday's Democratic State Assembly, according to the Denver Post [May 23, 2004, "Miles wins top line on ballot"]. From the article, "Miles, a dogged campaigner who drove around the state for more than two years, scored the most votes and won the coveted top line on the Aug. 10 Democratic primary ballot. The crowd at the State Fair Events Center erupted, and Miles supporters rushed the stage and hoisted their candidate on their shoulders."

2004 Presidential Election

Indiana is firmly behind President Bush, 54% to 33% with 6% going to Ralph Nader according to a recent Indianapolis Star poll

Thanks to Political Wire for the link.

From Peter Blake's column in yesterday's Rocky, "President Bush, who is scheduled to address graduation ceremonies at the Air Force Academy June 2, will be in Denver the previous evening for a major, invitation-only Republican Party fundraiser at the Phipps Mansion."

The Denver Post looks at the former lobbyists appointed by the President, [May 23, 2004, "When advocates become regulators"]. The article starts out, "In a New York City ballroom days before Christmas, a powerful Bush administration lawyer made an unprecedented offer to drug companies, one likely to protect their profits and potentially hurt consumers."

Update: Two differing views on former General, Anthony Zinni, and his apperance tonight on 60 Minutes. One from Blogs for Bush and one from Juan Cole.
