Immigration
Is Tom Tancredo actually credible on the issue of immigration? Jason Bane writing on 5280.com - Elevated Voices says no. He writes, "It's about time that somebody called out Tancredo on the illegal immigration issue, because he's not doing anything to solve the problem besides pointing fingers. Tancredo's solution to illegal immigration is to deport all illegal immigrants, but as a congressman he knows damn well how completely unrealistic that is. He tells the News that ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) officials are 'ignoring' local law enforcement requests. He's right...and the truth is that Tom Tancredo is the person who is causing the problem...

"Tom Tancredo talks, but (U.S. Senator Wayne) Allard actually does something about it. Sure, Tancredo has tried to pass legislation in Congress to facilitate more resources, but it's usually so over-the-top that he can't get enough support to get it passed."

Meanwhile the Western Democrat writes, "Utah's Governor Jon Huntsman (R) is saying that the number of states likely to participate in the Western Primary will be three (UT, NM and AZ) and not six (take out MT, CO and WY). On a purely partisan basis, this isn't really bad news because two of the three states left are arguably stronger Democratic states that the ones that Huntsman now says aren't likely."

TABOR
Unbossed is starting a series about the mechanics of TABOR. They write, "It seems oddly appropriate over the Labor Day holiday to examine the real effects of the Taxpayers' Bill of Rights (TABOR) on states' fiscal health, citizens' quality of life, and government budget-balancing on the backs of working Americans."

Some of the irony of course is that this in-depth analysis is coming from the blogosphere on a day when the Rocky and the Post are running short articles, with little information, about opponents and proponents of Referendums C and D sniping at each other. This series should help you make your mind up about the Referendums.
