Schwarzenegger Vetoes Same-sex Marriage Bill

The Moderate Voice reports: "And now we have the allegely libertarian Schwarzenegger, the man who once said that he didn't care whether same-sex marriage was legal or not, vetoing a same-sex marriage bill that recently passed the California Senate and Assembly."

Howling At A Waning Moon: "In a 229 to 193 vote, falling largely along party lines, the U.S. House of Representative passed a bill today undermining the U.S. Endangered Species Act. 34 Republicans voted against the bill, 36 Democrats voted for it."

Referendum C

Opponents of Referendum C are pointing to a 2003 memo authored by Governor Bill Owens to accuse him of flip-flopping, according to the Rocky Mountain News [September 30, 2005, "Owens shifted view on TABOR"]. From the article, "TABOR's not the problem, services aren't in danger and budget cuts are merely shrinking wish lists, they say - echoing the same arguments Owens' budget staff used in preparing the October 2003 memo."

Check out the TV Ads from Vote Yes on C and D. Here's some fact-checking from the Rocky Mountain News [September 30, 2005, "Pro-Ref C ads feature seniors"].

Here's Part VI of the Rocky's series about individual voter reaction to Referendum C [September 30, 2005, "Share the costs"]. The Rocky is also running this article this morning [September 30, 2005, "Pay as you go"].

The Cherry Creek News: "U.S. Senator Ken Salazar will announce his endorsement of Ballot Question 3A (ProComp). at Viking Park across from North High School."
