The metro-area water roundtable met Tuesday evening to kick off their part in implementing the Colorado Water for the 21st Century Act, according to the Rocky Mountain News [September 7, 2005, "Metro water talks begin"]. From the article, "The metro-area talks - like others across the state - are designed to assist each of Colorado's major river basins and the north and south metro areas in determining: how much water they need; how to cover future demand, and how to find cooperative ways to share water among river basins."

Referendum C
Opponents of Referendum C have filed a lawsuit over the ballot wording, according to the Rocky Mountain News [September 7, 2005, "Ref C opponents file lawsuit over ballot wording"]. From the article, "Jon Caldara, president of the Independence Institute, said he doubts that his side will win its legal challenge to have the ballot language changed, but he wants to give it a try. The language under the ballot title states: 'Without raising taxes and in order to pay for education, health care, roads, bridges . . . ' etc. Caldara objects to the first three words."

Douglas Bruce is angry about the ballot language for Referendums C and D, according to the Rocky Mountain News [September 7, 2005, "Bruce blasts language on C, D"]. From the article, "The explanations of the tax measures, along with their pros and cons, are to appear in what is known as the 'Blue Book,' the state's official voters guide, which all voters receive before an election. Both sides of Ref C and D agreed that the language in the book needs to be simple, but they disagreed on what that language should say."

Here's the coverage from the Denver Post [September 7, 2005, "'Blue books' for C, D win OK"].
