2003 Denver Mayoral Election

E-mail from the Aaron Harber show:

"Due to the Mayoral Race heating up and going into the final stretch, as a public service, KBDI Channel 12 has decided to run the first Mayoral Debate Show (with candidates Susan Casey, John Hickenlooper, Phil Perington, and Penfield Tate) tomorrow (Friday, April 25th) evening at 9:00 pm and Sunday (April 27th) afternoon at 2:00 pm."

"If you could warn your readers, viewers, and listeners that the program is a one-hour special and we are starting the show a half-hour early (at 9:00 pm rather than 9:30 pm), that would be great."

"The highlight is the candidates' responses to the Spy Files controversy and their reluctance to identify problems in the current Administration."

"Please go to the 'Next Show' page of our Web site -- www.HarberTV.com -- for more information call our producer Zachary Adler at 720-422-6106."

2003 Denver Mayoral Election

The Denver Post has a short article about a mayoral forum that will be broadcast on on Channel 4 Saturday. From the article, "Denver's seven mayoral candidates began taking off the gloves Wednesday during the most spirited debate of the campaign." Update: The Rocky Mountain News has a story about the forum and they say the candidates avoided taking off their gloves. You decide.

Embarassing facts about John Hickenlooper and his troubles with a property in Connecticut surfaced yesterday according to the Denver Post. Hickenlooper is drawing attention due to his rise in mayoral polls according to the article. We're less than two weeks away from the election and candidates are trying to break out from the pack.

Susan Casey's disagreement with Mayor Webb over political appointments is the subject of an article from the Rocky Mountain News. From the article, "It's hard to get a grasp on how widespread this was,' said Casey, who acknowledged she was acting on rumors the switches were happening. 'We might have added three, five, 10 senior-level-paying jobs to the budget. It's a real problem if it's occurring."

Elizabeth Schlosser met with Denver Public School studentson April 16th, according to Denver Student Voices. From the article, "Schlosser then spoke about what she would bring to the position if elected as Denver's first female mayor. She spoke about her experience in historic preservation and her interest in the arts, as well as her educational and business background"

Some mayoral fun from Westword.
