Certainty #2 - Would you do something [worthwhile] in which success was assured? Or is part of the challenge in taking the risk?
I really love, and am really good at starting new things. I love the excitement of planning the attack, of working out a strategy, of "lining up my ducks" so to speak and popping them off one by one. I love the uncertainty of the adventure, the facing the opposition, determining the odds and playing anways.
But I don't like doing new things that are a certainty. If I know that I can do it, that there is no challenge, that there is no risk of failure - then I'm sorry, but it doesn't get me going.
So how does one balance the mundane and the exciting, the certain and the uncertain?
Life is full of certainty and uncertainty. You can stack the odds a little one way or the other, but it's true that you end up with a mix. I wouldn't like to have a life that was all uncertainty. Yet - I don't like cooking the same meal twice :-)
Strange huh!
