Why bug fixes suck
I've got an old Flash 5 file sitting on my desk - works fine in Flash 5, but converting it to MX breaks it. Why? I remember when I was writing this 5 file, there was this screwy scope problem that took me ages to sort out. This scope problem is now fixed and now I have to remember the shonky workaround I hacked so I can un-hack it and make it non-shonky. In conclusion, I have wasted two lots of time to get back to where I was in the first place. Don't you just love bug fixes...

OT: Stephen Jay Gould Dies
And he was only 60, what a crying shame. This has been a bad year for losing cool people - SJG, Douglas Adams, Dudley Moore, Chuck Jones, Billy Wilder and Spike Milligan all in the same year!
