"What kind of peace do I mean? What kind of peace do we seek? Not a Pax Americana enforced on the world by American weapons of war. Not the peace of the grave or the security of the slave. I am talking about genuine peace, the kind of peace that makes life on earth worth living, the kind that enables men and nations to grow and to hope and to build a better life for their children - not merely peace for Americans but peace for all men and women - not merely peace in our time but peace for all time." -- JFK

Give me a break. Little George is not a wimp. Multi-million dollar stock-fraud is not for wimps. Arrogance in an idiot is the opposite of wimpiness. Bush is a twit, and idiot, an unpleasant, greedy bastard. He's the spawn of a line of rich, thieving drunkards. "Who cares what you think?" pretty much sums up his respect for the American people. Election fraud should be the highest form of treason in a democracy, and W. should spend the rest of his life in jail. But he's just as tough about ordering aircraft carriers to the Persian Gulf as his father was, and we've already seen his eagerness to kill in plenty of contexts.

(None of that is to say he's *tough* himself. Give W. and Saddam each a knife and America would be in trouble.)

Corruption overload. In saner times, the appearance of impropriety was sufficient to force bureaucrats and political appointees to resign.

The Bush junta, having seized power through voter fraud and flagrant judicial corruption, sees no point in a pretense of legality.

The clear strategy is to violate all norms, stonewall at every turn, and completely ignore laws and constitution in a power grab that Hitler would have been proud of. They present so many cases of clear corruption that the public can't keep up. Meanwhile Democrats have either given up or cling to the hope of winning the House in November, despite Bush's war mongering, the media's steady pro-Bush barrage, and Bush's record-breaking fundraising.

It's a high-stakes game. Anyone who can pull one card can bring the whole Bush junta down. Cheney and Bush are poster-boys for "hard-time for corporate criminals".

Bring us their heads.

"I love when Republicans pretend that they're for prescription drug entitlement, they're for Medicare, they're for Social Security. This year's election is the greatest right-wing cross dressing since J. Edgar Hoover hung up his brassiere." --Paul Begala, Crossfire, 09/03/02

CARLSON: Ralph Nader, thanks for joining us. I can never see you without feeling the same way, and which is grateful that you helped elect our president and defeat Al Gore. So thanks very much for that. I want to...

RALPH NADER: In fact, Gore won the election. I keep telling you that.

"The world must understand its credibility is at stake."

Excuse me? If any credibility were at stake, it would be Bush's. But his credibility is at zero.
