"What kind of peace do I mean? What kind of peace do we seek? Not a Pax Americana enforced on the world by American weapons of war. Not the peace of the grave or the security of the slave. I am talking about genuine peace, the kind of peace that makes life on earth worth living, the kind that enables men and nations to grow and to hope and to build a better life for their children - not merely peace for Americans but peace for all men and women - not merely peace in our time but peace for all time." -- JFK

What's left of Freedom of Speech and the Bill of Rights after two years of Aschroft and Bush?

You have the right to remain silent.

Much to our dismay, licentious radio is not blocked by China's political firewall.

Check if China blocks your website.

Alas there's no url to demand that Chinese censors block your weblog.

Down with censorship, yada yada, but how dare you not censor us! Have we no feelings? Prick us, do we not bleed?

And darn it, you had better get to it quick, or General Ashcroft will beat you to the punch. One more gassed puppy and we're expecting an all-expenses-paid vacation at a brand new maximum security resort -- away from all the distractions of family, friends, news, lawyers, grass, trees, sunshine, windows, light switches, etc. Free drugs, we hear, too.

Noted with no sense of incongruity: a New York Times reporter named LIE-ALL (Lyall).
