"What kind of peace do I mean? What kind of peace do we seek? Not a Pax Americana enforced on the world by American weapons of war. Not the peace of the grave or the security of the slave. I am talking about genuine peace, the kind of peace that makes life on earth worth living, the kind that enables men and nations to grow and to hope and to build a better life for their children - not merely peace for Americans but peace for all men and women - not merely peace in our time but peace for all time." -- JFK

Rebecca Knight [buzzflash.com]: "We also know that the Bushes played dirty tricks in Florida and lied out the wazoo about Al Gore's efforts there. Truth be known, which it never will, Al Gore won Florida, too."

She links to the key articles explaining how the election results were thwarted by Republicans, and how this coup d'etat was covered up by the corporate media.

The FBI's counterterrorism chief resigns. Don't worry -- says the FBI -- his resignation will have no affect on our investigations.

Let's see. Is that because he was completely useless? Or maybe it's because the "investigations" were cover-ups, and anyone can *pretend* to be investigating. Or maybe it's because he personally stifled the anthrax investigations, and now the trail is so cold that there's no chance of finding anything.

Regime change in DC!

YWBEIS: You will be executed in secret. It's the newest flame against anyone who dares to question authority. Be sure to wave the flag when you use it.
