"What kind of peace do I mean? What kind of peace do we seek? Not a Pax Americana enforced on the world by American weapons of war. Not the peace of the grave or the security of the slave. I am talking about genuine peace, the kind of peace that makes life on earth worth living, the kind that enables men and nations to grow and to hope and to build a better life for their children - not merely peace for Americans but peace for all men and women - not merely peace in our time but peace for all time." -- JFK

[5:18:47 PM]
Wouldn't it be great for the United States to *lead* the world in cleaning up the environment, converting to renewable energy, promoting democracy, promoting prosperity for the masses, promoting health, and promoting peace?

Wouldn't it be great to have budget surpluses and a strong economy with resources to focus on the country's problems?

[12:04:32 PM]
Colbert I. King: "Let's be clear: I proudly wore the uniform of an Army commissioned officer. I have no use for Padilla and Hamdi if they took up arms against our country, and, if the accusations are true, they deserve to be in the brig until hell freezes over. But in my book, it can't happen on the executive's say-so alone."

King's "book" is similar to the Constitution and laws of the United States in that regard.
