"What kind of peace do I mean? What kind of peace do we seek? Not a Pax Americana enforced on the world by American weapons of war. Not the peace of the grave or the security of the slave. I am talking about genuine peace, the kind of peace that makes life on earth worth living, the kind that enables men and nations to grow and to hope and to build a better life for their children - not merely peace for Americans but peace for all men and women - not merely peace in our time but peace for all time." -- JFK

The government sealed the tapes in a secret settlement and still refuses to release them."

"He's used poison gas on his own people," said George H. W. Bush.

So there you are. It's all phony. Poppy knows better than anybody that when Saddam was at his worst, he was Poppy's boy.

"I don't think anybody could have predicted ... that they would try to use an airplane as missile," Rice said. "Had this president known of something more specific or known that a plane was going to be used as a missile, he would have acted on it."

Well, excuse me. Lots of people could have predicted.... Had Bush been doing his job -- instead of fundraising and ignoring terrorists -- he darned well should have acted on it. Dick Cheney was too busy making energy policies to help Enron to bother with terrorism, even though he appointed himself in charge of anti-terrorism.
