Tonight's wine: an extremely good Burgandy: Fery-Meunier Savigny-les-Beaune 2000. If there's any doubt that the French burgandies rule, tonight's wine stomped all over 'em. This was a $50 bottle in a restaurant and was just absolutely perfect. A delicate wine but with all sorts of layers and flavors that show through.
The French can really do burgandies. American Pinot's, with the exception of the high end Pinot's, just can't compare.
And, I'm a tad looped as I type...Total Yum.....Good Stuff....

Ahhhhh......Peter and I just returned from the most delightful dinner with Aron Wolf and his son John at Campagne. Aron came down to Seattle this morning on the same flight as Peter and I.
Aron, entertainingly enough, is in the same predicament as Peter. Aron needed 500 miles by the end of the year to make Alaska Airlines MVP Gold status (trust me - a very big deal). So Aron made a one day trip to Seattle to get his requisite miles, shop, eat, and meet up with his son John. Peter will also have to make one more trip by the end of the year. We're contemplating adding on to this Seattle trip, a one day trip down to the Bay Area for some serious wine shopping.

The Slat Rat and the Ski Boy are comfortably ensconced with "Bob" the goldfish at The Hotel Monaco in Seattle. Bob is supplied upon request by the Monaco - Bob provides a pet fix for those of us who are away from home.
We're here for four days of shopping, eating, and football. However, Bob will be hanging out in the room.
Tonight's dinner will be at Campagne. I can taste the wine now! Slurp!
