The past few days have been warm and sunny. The ice has changed color and is beginning to look a tad mushy on top.
Lagoon Ice Out Tip: The Ski Boy says that warm sunny weather is not what gets the ice moving. Instead it's wind and rain. Rain is forecast for Monday.
Below are two "State of Lagoon" photos taken yesterday. So, take a gander at pics, visit the National Weather Service's Anchorage Web Site and vote!

A view from the East end. The ice will go out the West end. Still lots of ice but the Chester Creek drainage lead has really grown.

This is the Lagoon's smaller east end slough that is separated by Minnesota Blvd from the remainder of the Lagoon. Note that large portions of the slough are ice free.
