This evening, a new chapter was added to the Legend of the Blue Tarp.

I was standing at the sink, cooking dinner, when I noticed a stray bright purple climbing rope hanging down in the backyard. I looked again and then noticed that it was pouring rain. Hmmmm....Wasn't that now-stray purple climbing rope supposed to be tieing down the Blue Tarp?

Seth charged upstairs to check out the tarp status. He immediately yelled down "Call the Tarp Crisis Hotline!" Which I did. Literally within five minutes of my call, Jon, Kevin, and the Rain Proofing roofer guy all showed up. Anchorage's 911 dispatch could take lessons from these guys!

After an hour of retying and visqueen installation, our not yet sealed deck is now safe and dry under the newly reinforced Blue Tarp.

My sister, Songya and me at Peter's favorite lunch place in the whole world! Cafe Claude in San Francisco. They have the best croque monsieurs in the U.S.

This picture was taken last Friday. We were mid way through a shop 'till you drop day. Songya was on the hunt for school clothes. I was along for the ride and some vicarious shopping. Peter was the designated Sherpa.

We had a great time. And - isn't my little sister gorgeous?!
