The Ski Boy and I just returned from a delightful dinner at Mic's at the Inlet" with Aron and Pat Wolf.
Fabulous conversation, really inventive and good food, and super wine: Te Kairanga 2001 Pinot Noir Reserve. Oooh - a really elegant and delicate Pinot with a robust frame. A nice complex nose, soft ruby color, and an elegant, fruity taste that holds up through the bottle (two bottles, actually). Solomon, our sommelier, stated that the New Zealanders imported their yeast from France. That would explain the wine's "Burgundian" aspect. Much closer to France in flavor and body than to Oregon.

Last night, I caught up with last Sunday's Sex in the City via TiVo. Gads - just change the location and clothing styles and two of the story lines could have been lifted right from the life of the "Slat Rat."
I, like Carrie, once had a boyfriend that spent time in a mental institution. But instead of a lush Connecticut facility, my former boyfriend was ensconced at API (Alaska Pyschiatric Institute) whose ambience is more "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" than "Canyon Ranch."
The Gay, Lesbian, BiSexual, and Transgender Prom was a hoot. Prior to moving in with the Ski Boy, I had a fabulous roommate who was president of the Anchorage chapter of the Young Men's Gay Association. We had the most marvelous parties - 30-40 incredibly cute young guys and Clemmie and I were the only girls in attendance. It was heaven.
