The Ski Boy and I are ensconced at a Hampton Inn - and amazingly, they have the most excellent free wi-fi service in the rooms. My laptop is screaming along. There was an initial IP address issue - I had to force an IP address assignment through IP config. After that small bump it has been smooth sailing. The Ski Boy and I have arrived in - ta da - Iowa!!!!! It's been a heck of a travel day - we flew from Anchorage to Chicago and then drove (forever!) from Chicago to Iowa City. We arrived at 9:30 PM and immediately had a beer and a margarita. Life improved dramatically after the infusion of vital fluids. Tomorrow we're going to hang out - maybe tour downtown Iowa City. It's a college town (home of the Iowa Hawkeyes!) and is supposed to be funky and cool. Tomorrow evening is the rehersal dinner and then Saturday is the big wedding day. Bruce's bride-to-be, Andrea, is Indian/Hindu, so I'm eagerly anticipating an event a la Monsoon Wedding. Should be a total blast. 8:09:26 PM    comment []
