So, I think that hot tubbing out-of-doors when it's 12 degrees with a 30 mph wind resulting in a 25 below wind chill factor could count as thrilling.
If nothing else, it certainly is bracing. Actually, the really bracing moment is the nanosecond that lasts an eternity when clad only in a bathing suit and flip flops, one scoots out the door into the minus 25 wind chill, darts across the snow (in flip flops) to the hot tub, frantically kicks off the flip flops into a snow bank, and kerplunks into the tub.
And, Robin. This is one of the many reasons why I wear my glasses while hot tubbing. I'm so blind that I'd never find the hot tub without my glasses. I'd get lost and end up frozen in a snow bank. Plus, because our hot tub is outside, reasonable vision is sort of a survival thing. Our yard is very popular with the Bullwinkle crowd and I like to keep tabs on our big brown ungulate visitors - one needs to know when to beat a hasty retreat.
And if I didn't wear my glasses while tubbing, I'd miss sightings like this.
