So - here I am LIVE at the Great Alaska Shootout!!!!

I'm blogging via the complimentary GCI 802.11b Wireless Network. What a total blast!!!!

I'm sitting down at the official stats and press table - rubbing elbows with the ESPN guys, and the official electronic stat keepers who also happen to be GCI employees - Ed Wickam and Kathie Yatchak. We are having a total good time!

The championship game between Duke and Purdue gets underway in about ten minutes.

UPDATE: The game is underway - I'm still at the press table - it has a power outlet and I have an in with the score keepers. So here I sit!!!! It is so much fun to be mere inches away from the action!

End of Game Update: As Peter stated, Duke is certainly not the number two team in the country. They looked very inexperienced and were outmanned by Purdue. The much hyped, Luol Deng was awkward and quite tentative. Only Chris Duhon looked like a player and even he made a number of gaffes. Coach K. definitely has his work cut out for him.

Me, Kathie, and Edward.

Here's a real coup: Jerry Falwell's autograph (that poor basketball). I'm sure the "Phill 1:6" is some sort of reference to Philidelphia 76'ers...

Probably not the most flattering picture ever taken of Coach K.
