Peter, Mary, and I braved Shaun of the Dead this evening.

Mary and I thought it was a complete hoot. Peter may never forgive me. "Shaun" is an absolutely hysterical romantic comedy/zombie flick. And it sure delivers on the wry zombie comedy front. (Who knew the words wry, zombie, comedy would ever go together as a phrase!).

However, the movie is pretty gory in a wry zombie sort of way. And that's where the Ski Boy had issues. A surging mob of zombies diembowling one of our heros is not for the faint of tummy. But, trust me. It was funny - in a British sort of zombie way.

After the movie, we fled to Southside Bistro for dinner and a great bottle of wine, the 2000 Treana Red a very spicy, well made red blend. Somehow, drowning one's zombie fears in a bottle of red wine seems appropriate.

It's official: September of 2004 was the wettest Anchorage September on record. Including the snow, we had 7.35 inches of rain which obliterated the old record of 6.64 inches set in 1990.

But here's the killer: 80 percent of that precipation fell within the last nine days of September!

And finally, September of 2004 was the third wettest month ever in Anchorage. Good thing we're all building our arks! (Thanks to the Ski Boy for hunting down the very cute Ark gif!)
