Clinching at Yankee Stadium!!!!!!!
It doesn't get any better than this!!!!!!!!!!
Yipeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The announcers are talking as if the Red Sox have this thing won and Matsui just hit a lead off single.
I'm just DYIN' here.....

I've spent tonight checking in every few minutes on David Pinto's great great baseball blog, Baseball Musings. David's great commentary got me through tonight's game!!!!
And on to the bottom of the 9th.
GASP!!!!!!!

On the radio broadcast, I'm hearing chants of "Let's Go RedSox" at Yankee Stadium!!!!
Trot just scored the 10th run!

Peter has informed me that I can't come in to watch the ninth inning unless there are two outs in the bottom of the 9th with no one on base and the score is still 9-3 or better. So, I'll just stay parked next to the radio and listen to the dulcet tones of Jon Miller.
Although I am tempted to switch to the Internet broadcast so I can hear Joe Castiglione. But that would be a jinx. So, I'll just stay where I'm at.
Top of the ninth. Two on for the Bosmos. No outs.
This is excruciating.

This little Snowman is Peter's buddy - he went to work with Peter today and is now parked on the couch watching the game. Peter also wore his Red Sox hoody and his Red Sox cap to work. Not that we're excited by the game or anything like that...

What is this power that Pedro has over his managers?????
Last year, Grady Little leaves him when he should have been yanked.
This year, Francona brings him in. Which get's the crowd into the game - "Who's Your Daddy?!!!!!"
Pedro promptly gives up two runs.
Part of being a manager is making the tough decisions and not coddling your stars. Geez...I am disgusted.
Fortunately the damage was limited to just those two runs and Bellhorn got one of them back with solo shot.
Geez......

I had a cow when Francona pulled Lowe, who was pitching a one hitter, in favor of Pedro. And now, there's only bleeping out and the Yankees have scored two runs off of Mr. Martinez. S**t!!!!!!!!!!!
Why the *bleep* did Francona pull Lowe????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okey Dokey!!!!!
Take me out to the ball game,
Take me out with the crowd.
Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jack,
I don't care if I never get back,
Let me root, root, root for the home team,
If they don't win it's a shame.
For it's one, two, three strikes, you're out,
At the old ball game.

Six full innings and Lowe is pitching such a gem. He's commin' through big time.
o.k. Top of the 7th. Two men on for Boston and Mr. Home Run, Johnny Damon is up to bat. And out comes Joe Torre. I can't believe Joe's going to pull Loaiza. Loaiza is the best thing the Yankees have going.
Geez....

The first sentence currently displayed on the ESPN site is:
After a gut-wrenching week in the ALCS, Boston has taken the drama out of Game 7.
What do you mean "no drama?!!!!" We're dying here at the Partnow Manse. This is the Red Sox vs. the Yankees. There's still plenty of time for things to go wrong. Gads....What are these sportswriters thinking?????

Whew....Just hanging in there.
Peter and I are being very careful. Just holding on, remaining focused, etc. We're not even in the same room - the tension level is just too high.
Actually, Peter has all the televisions on in the house and he's just wandering from upstairs to downstairs.

I hadn't even made it downstairs before Johnny Damon hit another homer!
The score is now 8-1 Bosmos! I'm remaining calm.
I've decided not to go downstairs for this inning. I'm listening to the radio instead. I love Jon Miller - he and Vin Scully are my two favorite baseball broadcasters.
UPDATE: The sox half of the 4th is over. So I'm gonna turn off the radio now and go hide.

I just got home from work and am hiding up in my office. I can't stand to watch or listen when the Yankees are at bat. It's too nerve wracking.
I was soooooooo excited at work when Johnny D. hit his Grand Salami to put the Red Sox up 6-0. I wanted to call Peter. But I didn't - phone calling to exhault is the ultimate jinx. So, I just came home.
Now, I'm gonna head back downstairs to watch the Red Sox half of the 4th. The Yankers scored 1 run in their half of the 3rd.
6-1 Red Sox! This is soooooooo painful!
