Organica is an interesting little webbot that shows links from and between weblogs [here]. They also have a page for my weblog [here].

Organica crawls weblogs and makes statistics on what's popular right now, related sites, who links to who, which tools are being used, webservers being used for weblogs and so on.

Strange. The blogging community has all kinds of "tools" that do this or that useless thing. These people have too much time on their hands.

Toyota Highlander, a fuel cell hybrid vehicle (Photo courtesy Toyota)Auto execs from around the world met to promote cleaner vehicle emmisions [here]. That's certainly a step in the right direction, however, I wonder when they are going to meet to discuss how they are going to deal with the nearing peak in petroleum production?

Bill Ford, chairman of the board and CEO of Ford Motor Company, told the roundtable, "By 2020, there could be 1.1 billion vehicles on the road worldwide, which is nearly 50 percent more than in the year 2000."

That's a steep increase. Can oil production keep up? No. So when the limit in oil production collides with the demand for automobiles, it is going to be devastating on the automobile industry and on the world economy. If they really want clean vehicles, then fuel cell powered and hybrids will help. Fortunately, these vehicles should also decrease the pressure on fossil fuel production.
