Ferrari Racing along with its drivers, Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello, has been dominating F1 this year. There is a growing sentiment among fans that something needs to be done to keep the sport interesting [here].

"If Schumacher is 20 points ahead of Rubens Barrichello, then he has to drive with a car that's 20 kilos heavier,” suggested the silver-haired multi-millionaire [Bernie Ecclestone].

This type of handicap should make individual races more interesting, but isn't it also a disincentive for the other teams to improve their cars? I, for one, would rather see improvement of the other teams than handicapping of the best team.
