The latest contest of man vs. machine ended in a draw yesterday. The Brains in Bahrain competition pitted world champion, Vladimir Kramnik and the computer program, Deep Fritz [MSNBC].

The Bird of Prey plane is named after a Klingon spacecraft in Star Trek. (Seattle P-I)I'm not quite sure if this plane is useful for anything, but it sure looks cool. The Boeing Bird of Prey was named after the Star Trek Klingon spacecraft of the same name. It is stealthy, but subsonic and seems to have been mostly used as a test platform for several design and building techniques developed at Boeing. The classified project ran from 1992 to 1999 and was just revealed to the public on Friday [Seattle P-I].
