Fine Examples of Wireless Insecurity :
While his 800-mile drive confirmed that the number of wireless networks is growing explosively, he also found
that only a third used basic encryption - a key security measure. In fact, in nearly 40 percent of the networks not a
single change had been made to the gearís wide-open default settings.

One of my neighbors installed a WiFi access point recently. For most of
the past year I've had the only one in range of my house, but now
another one pops up via MacStumbler. Curiously, they've kept the
default SSID ("linksys") but enabled WEP. So they have half a
clue, anyway.
