Glenn Reynolds: "The real problem with the Iraq war is that it's (1) waged by a Republican President; and (2) obviously in the United States' national interest. To some people, those characteristics are enough to brand it evil."

Is it really that simple, Glenn? Afghanistan, that was simple. Iraq, less so. I love my country and think hard about its national interest. So do a lot of people who questioned the timing and conduct of the invasion of Iraq, and who now question the conduct of the occupation. Are we all really just "fifth columnists?"

Iraq was a comprehensible strategic move, but it was hardly the only choice we had. There are plenty of arguments to make in favor of the war. Why dumb down your weblog by pretending there are no reasonable arguments against it?

Olliver Willis says John Edwards is the only candidate to have given money to his own campaign. Good for Edwards. But can it be true that the other candidates haven't written checks to themselves? It's not like Dean and Kerry (and Mrs. Kerry) can't afford a lousy $2,000.

On my way to California. What could be more fun than wading through an edit of the 7,000+ words I just filed to the Mad Genius? Doing it on an airplane.

The hawk that patrols the woods by the VF headquarters off North Elm St. is so big that if Luna was still a puppy I would pick her up and carry her when we passed through that bad boy's turf, lest she become breakfast.

Hey, let's ruin the best basketball conference in the country. I just can't wait to come home on a winter Wednesday night, flip on the tube to the local JP Sports feed, and enjoy ... BC vs. Miami?
