Some of the parodies of Apple's switch ads are wonderful.

Of course other campaigns have been targets and it seems wrong to leave out the mountain of work done using Gilbert and Sullivan pieces as a base.

These guys are probably hoping to be bought out by Apple. iBlog is very simple and has a clean interface - it still needs quite a bit of work, but Mac users with a .Mac account may want to play with this one.

Chimera is up to version 0.6. OS X users looking for a non Explorer browser have about four choices. Chimera has become my browser of choice, which is difficult to say as I really like Omniweb.

And what of that ferret eyeing your nose? Thanks for the tip Sukie!

In the interest of full disclosure I note that we have had ferrets for about twenty years and five are watching me at the moment. It is quite startling to wake up to a ferret licking your nostrils.

The Chamelon is a novel stab at moving towards a more practical human powered vehicle and, after many years of testing, is moving into production. At first glance it appears frightening - an elevated seat, narrow wheelbase trike - sort of the SUV of the trike world. The claim is that it is stable through the use of an articulated frame, but I'm a bit skeptical.

If it works the Chamelon would be a fine thing. Trikes tend to be low and have a very small visual cross section for others on the road.

A few days ago I was chatting with someone in his late teens and learned that he had never heard the term conscientious objector. Since Vietnam our little wars have been so surgical that Americans are rarely killed and the armed forces became community colleges for a generation.

One wonders if a shift of opinion will occur if we find ourselves in something a bit messier. Historically war has been a fairly lethal undertaking for the US.

Voting may or may not be important ... Science News has a piece on various types of elections and problems associated with each. Much has been written on the subject, but it seems appropriate to run an article on the subject.

My view is that most elections are fixed before the election with politically determined districting. Fixing that, of course, is probably impossible.

Paul Krugman offers his perspective on the subject. It may be locally irrational, but I've never missed an election and will be off to the polls when they open this morning.
