It is astonishing to note that over 5000 record labels have been cataloged on the Web.

A bit of searching will reward you with some unusual finds. I'd say a place with music made from samples created by ferrets playing with musical instruments is reasonably unusual (not to mention ferret themed music).

Burt Rutan is one of the right stuff guys when it comes to designing aircraft. The latest project is called SpaceShipOne to take three people to a 100km altitude and, if successful, bring the $10 million X Prize to Mr Rutan.

Hunt around on the Scaled Composites site under news for photos and a few details on the spacecraft.

Unlike some of the competitors to date, Burt brings a good deal of technical sophistication - perhaps enough to win the prize. Now if Paul MacCready would enter ...

There are some very sophisticated amateurs who deal with rocketry - the RRS is among the most competent.

Some time ago we noted NoteTaker from AquaMinds - very cool and useful stuff from a NeXTSTEP foundation and now there is some competition from NoteBook.

I haven't used NoteBook, but Tim gives it his strongest recommendation.

NoteTaker is incredibly useful (although I'm still on the trial period) - NoteBook may or may not be better - Jayson Adams (who wrote NoteBook on NeXT) is the author and the old NoteBook was wonderful.
