Turning Web Services & .NET I got a Web Services client application up & running (this one talked to a WS provider with a SQL2K backend). I used WinForms (ie, rich client) and I am convinced that due to the complexity of corporate enterprise applications, WinForms is a better GUI front-end that is also far more secure. Alternately, using WebForms with thin-client (aka MS-IE6) needs more effort in maintaining states and non-business logic. The WinForms vs. WebForms argument will need revisiting. MS has released 'Application Architecture for .NET: Designing Applications and Services'. I'll have to delve into that one. 7:33:52 AM ![]() |
