Bush has come to power by cheating (rigged elections), lies (his promises on government spending to the American people) and bribery (Abramoff). America - and its empire, the world - is governed by criminals and totalitarians.

Independent: "Jack Abramoff, the disgraced former Republican super-lobbyist, has agreed a deal with US government prosecutors, opening the way for what could be the biggest political influence peddling scandal in Washington for decades.
At a brief appearance yesterday in a federal court, Mr Abramoff pleaded guilty to three sets of charges covering fraud, conspiracy to commit bribery, and tax evasion. According to his lawyers, he is also pleading guilty to two separate fraud charges connected to the purchase in 2000 of a fleet of casino gambling boats in Florida."

Independent: "Lobbying is Washington's grubby secret. Some say lobbying is part of the democratic process. Others claim it is legalised bribery, even corruption. But love it or loathe it, it is the way Washington works."
Democracy? Forget it, it's the money that governs.

CommonDreams: "The United States remains far and away the greatest military power on Earth. But Iraq has brutally revealed the limits of American 'hard power'.
The 2003 invasion will go down in the textbooks for the brilliance of its execution. But despite spending $5 billion a month, and 140,000 troops on the ground, the United States can not ensure stability or security in Iraq.
Soft power was supposed to be the U.S. long-term trump card. Now it looks more like the six of clubs than the ace of spades. In economic terms, not only China, but also India and the countries of the Asian rim are snapping at the United States' heels. After its post-Cold War eclipse, Russia is re-emerging as an energy superpower.
The ideal U.S. war now is a massive strike to achieve the immediate military objective, followed by quick withdrawal. No cultural immersion, no direct long-term involvement, and perish the thought of 'nation-building'."

Guardian: "The Bush administration has scaled back its ambitions to rebuild Iraq from the devastation wrought by war and dictatorship and does not intend to seek new funds for reconstruction, it emerged yesterday."

The megalomaniac Bush hasn't finished one war with disastrous results when he already wants to invade another country.
GlobalResearch: "According to Scott Ritter, we Americans have been sending aerial vehicles (unmanned drones) into the Iranian hinterland for some months now. And, according to Kurt Nimmo, the CIA has put Turkey on notice for 'the possible US air operation against Iran and Syria'. The fact that our newspapers and Network television refuse to tell us about this does not absolve us of responsibility. You must, and I repeat, must, do all you can to stop this."

And as usual the next war will also be based on lies, just like the Iraq war.

In the meantime the GOP fundamentalists are worried about Barbie promoting 'gender confusion'.

2006 is the year of the impeachment. Impeach Bush.
