WJZ: "'We were wrong,' Powell says. 'The intelligence community was wrong, the British intelligence community was wrong, and all the other intelligence communities were wrong and I presented wrong information, because that was the information we believed to be true at the time.'"

When Powell presented his wrong 'information' in the UN, it was clear that the information amounted to nothing, some blurred pictures and doctored reports. Powell was lying and he knew it.

NYTimes: "Two leading civil rights groups plan to file lawsuits Tuesday against the Bush administration over its domestic spying program to determine whether the operation was used to monitor 10 defense lawyers, journalists, scholars, political activists and other Americans with ties to the Middle East."

WashingtonPost: "Lawyers for a group of Chinese nationals held in the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, with no hope of release are taking the rare step of asking the Supreme Court to intervene immediately, saying only the high court can resolve the constitutional crisis their case presents."

Independent: "We're spending £94bn on the health service this year, compared with £52bn six years ago... so why are wards shut down, operations cancelled and trusts in turmoil?"

It's not that difficult to understand. Privatisation and market economy have made everything more costly. Providing health care is not the first objective, it's making profits. It stands to reason that a government health service can provide services at cost, whereas a private organisation has to make a profit.
The same is true for other public services, like the post and public transport. Service is deteriorating and the costs are rising. That is an unhealthy situation.
