UPI: "Defence lawyers for Saddam Hussein Wednesday distributed copies of a lawsuit against President Bush and Prime Minister Tony Blair for destroying Iraq.

The suit accuses Bush and Blair of committing war crimes by using weapons of mass destruction and internationally-banned weapons including enriched uranium and phosphoric and cluster bombs against unarmed Iraqi civilians, notably in Baghdad, Fallujah, Ramadi, al-Kaem and Anbar.

The suit also accuses the U.S. president and British prime minister of torturing Iraqi prisoners, destroying Iraq's cultural heritage with the aim of eliminating an ancient civilization, and inciting internal strife.
Bush and Blair were also accused of polluting Iraq's air, waters and environment."

OhPinion: "As many Americans' energy bills are at an all-time high, and many low-income seniors are forced to make choices between heat and food, Congress cut funding for the Commodity Supplemental Food Program in the fiscal year 2006 appropriations process."
Compare that to this announcement by Karl Rove: "President Bush has been one of history's great tax cutting presidents. He has cut taxes for every American who pays taxes, and cut taxes every single year he's been in office ... These tax cuts help explain why the economy is so strong."
So it is a strong economy that denies food aid to the elderly poor? America is falling apart. The rich get richer and the poor poorer.

At a huge cost of lives and resources the US is wreaking havoc instead of rebuilding.
SeattlePi: "Stretched by frequent troop rotations to Iraq and Afghanistan, the Army has become a 'thin green line' that could snap unless relief comes soon, according to a study for the Pentagon."
The US can't invade Iran. If there will be an attack it will be a (nuclear?) strike on the Iranian power stations, maybe by Israel. Not a good prospect for peace in the region. The US is going to develop new nuclear weapons.

SFGate: "Inside the national weapons laboratories in Livermore and Los Alamos, N.M., scientists are working on a project called the Reliable Replacement Warhead. Congress initiated the program in 2005 to 'improve the reliability, longevity and certifiability of existing weapons and their components'. This innocuous-sounding undertaking, however, could significantly damage our national security.
The Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration and the weapons labs want to grow RRW into a multibillion-dollar effort to redesign and replace every nuclear weapon in the U.S. arsenal. But an expansive RRW program would significantly damage U.S. national security, because the international uproar over our country's development of new nuclear weapons would severely disrupt global cooperation in nonproliferation and consequently diminish pressure on Iran and North Korea to forgo their weapons programs and thwart efforts to stop clandestine trafficking in nuclear materials and equipment."

In the international political arena the US can only sustain itself by blackmail and threats.
CBS11tv: "A landmark nuclear deal between India and the United States will 'die' in Washington if New Delhi supports Iran at the upcoming meeting of the U.N. atomic watchdog agency, the U.S. ambassador said Wednesday."
